Siroi Maritime Academy of Merchant Navy, Dehradun provides Pre-Sea Deck-Cadet Training from all over India. The Training period is of 3 and half months. To join the training a student has to give an entrance test and a medical test, followed by an interview. The Entrance Test is based on objective type questions of General Knowledge of 60 marks total, 40 marks of Interview. After passing the three stages, the student is eligible for the training of Merchant Navy. The Academy claims to give each n every student placement in foreign shipping within these six months. After the admission he has to pay fees 1,20,000 in form of a DD .He has to live for four months in Academy. The fees includes lodging facility in a very peaceful and spacious environment ; dress material; food material; swimming training; spoken English classes; personality development classes; ship visits and so on.
