Commencement of Batch and Total Seats
Admission Open Whole Year, The Applicant Can Apply Anytime. The intake capacity of a batch is not more than 25. But for the timely placement of students, we prefer 20 students only. But filling the batch with 20 students does not mean that you can not apply or take admission in that batch. Of course you apply and join the batch. If a Batch commences in January, it is supposed to end in April generally and one joins the ship in June usually . A student who applies the online form and than joins the Batch in February, leaves the batch in May and joins the ship in July. The time some students joins the ships, the seats are vacant in the batch again and some other students fill that seats again. In this way, a chain of students is build up and they are known of each other's status of joining their ships. Every 21th student creates the next batch, he is counted in next Batch.
Qualification required : To apply online form, you need to be passes in 10th and your age should not be less than 16 at the time of joining the institute. Students who are above 18, will be prefered.
Physical Criteria : Minimum required physical fitness is your height should not be less than– 150 cms (4'11" approx) weight should not be less than 45 kgs. Eyesight should be normal and free from colour blindness. A candidate with color blindness may also try to join the Ship. But his selection will be dependent on the nature and severity of color blindness. When applying to a shipping company as a trainee they will help you with the arrangements for your medical and eyesight test.

Every student who wants to apply is advised to fill an online first.Please give your special attention to your mail id which should be written in small letters only.A reply is expected from the student as soon as he receives a call letter in his mail ID. This helps us to confirm that you have or have not received your joining letter.

Selection of a Candidate for Merchant Navy Deck Cadet Course After collecting and examining very carefully all the online forms, the Academy selection board will issue call letters to the short listed candidates in their mail id. The selected candidate receives a call letter for joining the batch in his mail id. There is no entrance test for the selection of a candidate. The candidate needs to print out the call letter, he received in his mail id, and bring with him at the time of joining the batch. Short listed candidates will be called to report at the academy on the date mentioned in the call letter. The candidate is requested to confirm the date over the phone if not mentioned in the call letter.
The Applicant should bring all these documents at the time of joining the institute on the Envelope enclosing all documents:
- Two passport sized coloured photographs with your name and mobile number written on the back of it.
- Identity Proof hiving Residence Proof.
- Medical Certificates of normal eye vision without colour blindness and Medical Fitness Certificates from a recognized medical hospital or authorized Medical Officer
- Two large sized Self Addressed envelopes with pin code and correct mobile/telephone numbers on each envelope. (Write Correct Addressin a clear handwriting and check it)
The Academy reserves the right to select or reject any candidate. The selection committee is not bound to call an applicant for interview or to assign any reason for rejection to any candidate. The candidate can be rejected if he is found to be suffering from any mental illness/ lack of common sence/lack of understanding human behavior/lack of understanding of English or Hindi/ lack of speaking perfectly/lack of speaking Hindi or English/lack of patience or any other type of abnormality or disorder of any type. Selected Candidates should take admission by paying the course fees. If failed to do so the seat will be offered to candidates on the waiting list.
